Cocktails anyone? Or should I say adult punch.
I came across this recipe in Oprah magazine and thought to myself, "that sounds delicious!". The problem was I thought my husband may be a tad concerned for Jack and myself if I had a bowl of whiskey punch made (and half drank) when he got home from work.
So I decided to put this recipe in my back pocket and pulled it out for New Years Day when I knew his whole family would be able to enjoy it.
I love a good craft cocktail and it's cold here in Ohio so whiskey just seemed fitting ya know?
Honestly it's super easy to make and it was a total hit!
Here's what you need:
- 5 blood oranges
- Whole cloves
- 2 (750ml) bottles sparkling apple cider, chilled
- 1 1/2 cups bourbon
- 20 drops Angostura bitters
- 1 cup currants
Slice oranges and press cloves into peel. In a punch bowl , combine cider, bourbon and bitters.
Float orange slices and currants on top.
Serve over ice and garnish with orange.
