The best and the worst natural deodorants

The Best & Worst Natural.png

Well it’s finally here, a post dedicated to natural deodorants! It got to a place where I’d come home with a new deodorant to try and my husband finally said enough is enough LOL I probably own 100 natural deodorants at this point (insert the stack of money emoji with wings). But it had to be done, and I am happy to have done it for you!

I am not going to highlight every single one but I am going to share what I liked and what I did NOT like, what worked and what worked for a few days then stopped.

I am happy to say that I did find a natural deodorant that I really love and hope you will too!

I was inspired to write this because when I asked you guys on my instagram story what natural deodorants you liked I was flooded with messages so here’s the top suggestions you guys gave me.

  1. Native deodorant

  2. Primal Pit Paste

  3. Schmidt's

  4. Alaffia

  5. Piper wai

  6. Noniko

Here’s the thing I like to keep my super vegan friends in the loop and a lot of times they’re not down with using a deodorant that has beeswax so I wanted to give all the options a fair shot.

I personally tried Schmidt’s lavender & sage deodorant, Alaffia coconut lavender, Piper Wai, and Noniko bergamot and grapefruit.

First up Piper Wai is such a good deodorant if you don’t mind spreading the black paste onto your pit. This deodorant comes in a jar and contains activated charcoal and it did not irritate my skin. I actually used this deodorant in the past for several months and was very happy with how “fresh” it kept me smelling throughout the day. But all good things must come to an end, I felt like my body got used to it after a while and it didn’t seem to keep things so fresh if ya know what I mean. But I would try this one out if I were you it’s a little pricey about $15.

Next up Schmidt’s lavender & sage: This one worked ok for the first half of the day but it does contain baking soda and I found it to be a little irritating after about a week of use, plus it has a hard grainy texture when applying so that wasn’t the best feeling in the world. I’d say it got a 6 out of 10 but that’s just me. I have a girlfriend who loves it so…

Alaffia coconut lavender deodorant with activated charcoal… this deodorant would get a 1 out of 10 from me. It goes on kind of slimy and it did not keep the pits smelling fresh at all. I had lot’s of people on insta write me and tell me the same thing about their experience. So I personally wouldn’t buy it again.

Finally NONIKO deodorant in the bergamot and grapefruit scent was the BOMB. I do have to say that this deo does contain beeswax and baking soda so I was very hesitant, but I noticed that after I gave my pits a break and wore no deodorant for 2 days and then tried this it was amazing. I only apply a small amount because baking soda can irritate my armpits and I found that it worked like a charm. I am really happy with the smell, texture, and “freshness” factor. I’d give it a 9 out of 10.

If you had to choose 2 to try out I’d say the Piper Wai and the Noniko are your best bets!

I also reached out to NONIKO and asked them for a discount code just for you, so if you click here and order from their site you will get 20% off your order with code: MODERNMAMA .

PLUS go check my instagram stories because I am giving away 1 lavender and mint NONIKO deodorant to one lucky lady!!
