Hey mama! Go grab yourself the nearest essential oils and get ready to create an at home spa.
Yesterday I taught Stroller Strides in the morning and grabbed an iced strawberry infused green tea from Starbs on my way home. I put Jack down for a nap and then decided to take a quick shower before I tried to squeeze 10 hours of laundry into 2 hours (his nap time).
As I was in the shower I glanced over at my sugar scrub and decided to stop the shower water and run a bath. I sat in the hot bath sipping my cold drink and scrubbing away with my sugar scrub. It was so NICE holy shit was is nice. I gave my mind permission to let go of the need to do laundry and I sat there being present with myself and fully relaxing.
When is the last time you did that in the middle of the afternoon?
I think it's so so important to MAKE time, yes as mamas we have to make it, to fill your cup. For me yesterday, it was this hot bath and this sugar scrub.
These small acts of self care go such a long way. They allow you to refuel so you can be the most present with your children.
This has totally encouraged me to start a live monthly Well Mama workshop where we will cover all things self care, baby, getting oily, and much more! Stay tuned for that!
The smell of this scrub is invigorating, literally it makes you feel awake and refreshed!
Let's get right into how to make this shall we?
I found these glass mason jar things at Target and they were like $3 for four of them. They make great gifts!!
- 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup fractionated coconut oil
- 15 drops grapefruit oil
- 10 drops orange oil
- Mix all ingredients in your glass jar and stir with a spoon!
- Scrub your body in the shower or bath and then rinse off. Your skin will feel soft and hydrated from the coconut oil.
